Overview On 3rd November 2022, the Scotland Malawi Partnership and Power Global International co-hosted a panel discussion on business, trade, investment, and tourism. The event, held virtually via Zoom, brought together key stakeholders from Malawi and the UK to foster collaboration, support policy-making, and promote sustainable development.
The dialogue featured input from Malawi’s Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, Her Excellency Justice Agnes Patemba, who spoke about the Tonse Alliance government’s international trade and investment agenda. Malawi’s High Commissioner to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Mwayiwawo Polepole, also addressed attendees, highlighting innovative youth-led business initiatives.
Objectives
- Introduce three new attachés (business, investment, and tourism) at the Malawi-UK High Commission.
- Raise awareness of the soon-to-be-launched Malawi-UK Chamber of Commerce.
- Facilitate networking and collaborative projects.

Chamber of Commerce Launch The Malawi-UK Chamber of Commerce is set to launch on 18th November 2022 in London. It aims to streamline customs processes, foster thematic collaboration, and support export development through shared networks.
Closing Remarks Lucy C. Chitembeya (Power Global International, USA) delivered closing acknowledgements, thanking all participants, speakers, hosts, co-hosts, and governments for their continued collaboration and commitment to sustainable partnership.
